Choosing a memorial for someone you love is a deeply personal decision. At Sacred Stones, we transform ashes into cremation stones with care, transparency, and respect at every step. Families are guided through a thoughtful process that creates beautiful, smooth stones to hold, share, and cherish.
Below is a simple overview of how the Sacred Stones process works—from placing your order to receiving your completed memorial stones.
Place Your Order
The process begins by selecting the cremation stone collection that best honors your loved one. Orders can be placed online, and the Sacred Stones team is available to answer questions or discuss details along the way.
Once the order is placed, instructions and materials are provided to help families safely ship their loved one's cremated remains to the Sacred Stones workshop.
Shipping cremated remains must be done through USPS Priority Express, the approved method for transporting ashes per USPS Publication 139
Sending Your Loved One's Ashes
After receiving the shipping materials and instructions, families send the cremated remains to the Sacred Stones workshop. The team carefully tracks each package and confirms when it has arrived safely.
From the moment the ashes are received, they are handled with care, dignity, and deep respect, honoring the trust families place in the Sacred Stones team.
Transforming Ashes into Stones
Once the ashes arrive at the workshop, the transformation begins. The cremated remains are carefully processed and molded into smooth stones modeled after natural river rocks. Each stone is unique in shape, size, and color—often ranging from about 2–4 inches wide—reflecting the natural variations found in cremated remains.
If engraving has been selected, the stones are personalized during this stage. Finally, each stone is finished with a clear, natural coating that helps protect the surface and enhance its appearance.
Careful Packaging and Delivery
When the stones are complete, they are carefully packaged for return to your home. From the moment we receive the ashes, the entire process typically takes about 4–5 weeks to complete.
Each stone is individually wrapped and placed inside a wooden keepsake box to ensure safe delivery. Families also receive tracking information so they know when their memorial stones are on the way.
